Digital Safety

The team uses a large amount of digital products and communication tools to complete our work. In order to ensure students and mentors are both acting in a safe manner, this policy has been created. This policy applies to all digital apps that the team utilizes, including, but not limited to:

• Github

• Slack

• monday.com

1. Never create a direct message between a student and any adult. There must always be 2 adults in any direct message.

   1. It is generally preferred to message in public available channels, however it is understood that cannot always be done.

      1. Lead mentors can easily be added to messages to ensure compliance.

2. Keep discussion on topic in the respective channel.

3. Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.

4. Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.

5. Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
